If your staircase is not straight don't think that you have no choice other than to invest in a curved stairlift. We understand that the cost and lengthy installation time of a curved lift, means it is not always a viable option for our customers. In these circumstances we are able to offer a range of carpentry solutions to permit the use of a straight stairlift.
Straight Staircase with flat 1/4 landing plus step
If your staircase has a ¼ landing at the top and one further step onto the landing, then by “in-filling” or creating a “false step”, a straight stairlift can be installed to deliver you right up to the landing level. This is particularly suitable if customers need to transfer to or from a wheelchair.
Two flights of stairs with flat 1/2 landing
If your staircase consists of two flights with a landing in between then two separate stairlifts can be used with the user transferring between the lifts. If there is a step on the landing this can be over come by construction of a “false step”.
